Tun Yew Koh gets his early education in Canton, China before he furthers his studies in Malaya at the age of 13th at Ipoh English Chinese School and Penang St. Xavier’s School.

           In 1909, when he was 21 years old, Tun Yew Koh succeeds to obtain 'Queen Scholarship Of The Straits Settlement' scholarship to further his studies at 'London School of Economics', University of London, in the field of political science and economy. He succeeds to obtain a degree in Science (Economics) in year 1913. He then continue his studies in legislation field for 4 years at 'University College' and 'Inner Temple', London until he obtain a Degree in Legislation in year 1917. After finishing his studies, he visits Yunan's province and China before he returns to Malaya to become a lawyer in Ipoh.
