In 1917, at the age of 28 years old, Tun Yew Koh was married to Ho York Ling, who was daughter of his father’s friend Ho Park Leong. Their husband and wife relationship were very close because they have the similar interests and had strong Katolik's religious belief. Ho York Ling was the person who plays big role in encouraging Tun Yew Koh to be commited in welfare works especially before and after Malaya achieved independence. This couple has 7 children namely, Ignatius Leong Kok Yin, Cyrillic Leong Kok Cheong, Agnes Leong, Joseph Leong Kok Chee, Anthony Leong Kok Hong, Irene Leong and Matilda Leong. Tun Yew Koh's relationships with his children are much attached and he always concerned of their education.
