Long Service Medal was instituted in the year 1978. This medal conferred to individuals and staff of public services that had given good services in Malacca state for 25 years and above and have a noble behavior and characterisic.

This medal is a medal pinned to the chest and consist of three layers. The award comprises pentagon shaped star where there will be five more small strips to each fraction of the star.
